A Little Pieces of A7X

Finally. The day where Avenged Sevenfold rock the soil in Malaysia.

Waited for around 4 hours in queue. Was one of the first few in line, waiting in the scotching sun. I think the back of my neck is darker already. :/

So there I was first few in line and when they opened the gates, sprinted in and manage to get the fence! My beloved trusty fence that never fails me at all concerts. The view?

AWESOME! And there was more waiting. But not too long actually! Opening band Love Me Butch only played 3 songs and started at 8pm. I expected them to play more songs like the other concerts. Oh well, Then more waiting and finally at 9.15-ish, the lights went off and music!

They started with Nightmare. EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE sang along to the point that the crowd was so loud I couldn't even hear M.Shadows anymore. Then it was Critical Acclaim, Second Heartbeat, Welcome to the Family, Beast and the Harlot, Buried Alive, So Far Away, Afterlife, A Little Piece of Heaven, Bat Country. Encore was Fiction, God Hates Us and Unholy Confessions. The list if for you, Yi Ming! I remembered it! XD

Some other pictures.

In the end, none of these are my favourite picture....

In remembrance of The Rev. The backdrop changed when they played So Far Away. Shit man, I almost cried singing along to that song. We miss you! And we made damn sure that you could hear us in the afterlife.

Bruises, sunburn, dehydration...

All worth it. Every single fucking time. :)

Second Chances...

Its so sad! My initial plan was to head over to the head office to purchase the tickets. Knowing that it will be fast there. Sadly, TicketPro was smart enough to put a phrase there saying that we can't purchase from the main office.

DAAAAAAMN! My entire plan to get Russell Peters tickets was ruined.

So this morning I decided to get up early and head over to Subang Parade to get the tickets hoping to be the first few in line. I got there around 9.45am thinking that the mall opens at 10am. Fucking doors were already opened when I was there. Had a bad feeling. As I was walking in I saw the queue and it was from Rock Corner all the way to Parkson. I think there must be around a hundred people lining up there man!

Knowing that there is not a chance I will even get a glimpse of the shop before the tickets are sold out, called my cousin who was lining up at Pacific Sports Damansara and she was 3rd in line. Drove all the way there just in time. The guy in front was taking his fucking own sweet time choosing his seats. Bloody idiot.

Didn't even reached the 2nd person and the tickets for RM128 and RM188 was all gone. 5 minutes was all it took. Stayed around there seeing the available seats disappearing and finally around 10.40am, there was none left.

But then....

Some of the seats actually become available again. Like suddenly they became unsold. I was not willing to wait la. Was too tired. Didn't get the sleep I needed and didn't have much patience at that moment.

So second chance just gone like that. I find that it is so unfair to those of us who don't have credit cards. Buying online is not possible! They should make you earn for your tickets! Only sell them at stores and if you want them, come early and get them.

But the world is all about the money. You got them, you'll get what you want. If I could afford the RM 338 tickets, I would have gotten them....

5 Apples and A Cake...

So, being the super bored jobless person I am now, I was browsing through some magazine when I spotted a recipe! England Apple Traybake.

Simple recipe and I had everything at home except for the self raising flour. So mom and I went out to get some and it was working time!

Cutting apples, mixing batter, lining the tray....

And soon the entire house is filled with the awesome aroma from the butter and the apples.

As usual, I'm always too lazy to follow the recipe. I am supposed to layer a few layers of apples and batter (alternating). I only layered twice because of my horrible judgement on the amount of batter to place on the first later.

Second mistake is when they mentioned "sprinkle GENEROUSLY with sugar"... Mom was like "You used the entire pack of sugar already and you still wanna sprinkle?". Sadly, I shouldn't have listened to her and sprinkle anyway. Apples are sour.

Thirdly, the tray was too small and deep. Its 20x20 when I need a 27x21 tray. Which means it is more moist than it should be in the middle.

So I guess the traybake turned out to be an apple butter cake instead. I topped the cake with cinnamon and sugar just to kill off the sourness apples.

Not too bad really! ;)

The Job - Task 4 (P1 Wimax)

Task 4
Day One

This time around our client was P1 Wimax! A fun company! We were asked to design a print ad for P1’s all new Home Talk.

First day there and we were given a tour of the place! Damn! It’s like a dream place to work man! There is like a leisure room where there are massage chairs, foosball and a pool table. There is also a very well equipped gym! First time entering to the gym and my reaction was, “Shiiiiiiiiiiit!!!”

Because of that, we had to redo and act surprise. Sorry guys!! Then we went on to the rooftop. There was like a little garden up there! They actually have parties there. You can see the entire PJ skyline. So cool!!!

After the tour, we were given a little product briefing. Got some notes that could have killed us later on as well....

Day Two
The day started with pitching of the idea to Alvin Teh. We expected at least one of our brilliant ideas to be picked. Unfortunately, we targeted the wrong market. Thanks to the briefing the previous day where we clearly asked the question, “Who is our target market?” and she answered “Current P1 users”

So we had ZERO ideas and only 1 hour (which was lunch) to come up with a target market, a concept, copyright and pictures.

We were fucked....

Even when we began our session with the designer, we still haven’t come up with a concept. Finally, we did and then we were running out of time!

There was not even a single minute to waste. Time seemed to fly by so quickly. In the end, we made it!!! No idea how in the world we did it, but we did...

Day Three
This time, day 3 was different. We started with presentation of the final design. Alvin asked questions and we answered. Damn, I wished I talked more at this point.

Result were shocking...

We actually won the challenge! Damn, are we awesome or what? We did everything in about 5 hours plus. Our ad had a lot of problems but then we had the flow and connection of words which the judges liked. It was soooooo delightful man!!

Then it was the hire time. This time I was the only one not offered a job offer. A bit sad la. I kinda expected it in a way. I knew I was too quiet when the judges where there. I need to argue back more! I am sick of the judges telling me that I am quiet and unconfident. With next week being in my zone, I’m gonna prove them soooooo wrong....

So we won 1 year free subscription from P1 and a goodie bag. Let's see what was in the goodie bag worth RM200...

Jealous much? ;)

Mushrooms

Yeah. Ever since the end of the show, I've been lazing around at home for far too long. I finally ran out of things to do at home.

So now, here I am again typing utter nonsense. At the rate I have been bored at home, mushrooms will start sprouting out from the top of my head if I don't find anything to do.

I should be cleaning my once again filthy room. Its like a minefield, you know? No where safe to step. The layer of dust is thick enough to make my black TV table grey. Clothes are everywhere, hanging on the window, on the bed, on the cushion (but never on the floor).

I should really clean my room. I think I'll do that tomorrow!

Also, I was cooking lunch just now and got myself a huge ass blister from the scorching oil. Well, I'm exaggerating a bit. Its the size of a huge red bean. Its so squishy and I am extremely tempted to burst it regardless of others warning me the consequences...

RESIST!!!

Its on my arm right at the fair part of the skin too! Urgh! Gonna do anything to make the scar less obvious. Other than tanning of course. I enjoy being a vampire that doesn't sparkle...

The beginning

I must say that I am going to miss university life. Skipping lectures, sleeping in class, studying last minute...

It was my graduation yesterday! Honestly, I wasn't super psyched about it. Not looking forward to the looooooong speech and the torture sitting there being all hungry...

Family surprised me with a bouquet of flowers. So sweet. My first bouquet ever! Not happy about the teddy bear there but who am I to complain. :)

Some pictures! :)

Recent Events

Recently, my mom got diagnosed with some kind of back problem known as lumbar canal stenosis. It is the narrowing of the spinal canal which causes pressure to be put on the spinal cord.

Thus, she was scheduled for an operation last Friday and was admitted on Wednesday because they wanted to run some tests.

The operation was successful but me staying in the hospital for 12 hours for 5 days was a killer. Mom was bored there. So there I am to accompany her la.

She got discharged yesterday. The doctor gave the "OK" at about 11am. So we had the nurses and staff to help us with the documents and stuff. We waited and waited and waited....

Bloody hell! It was 5pm and we were still there in the ward waiting for the stupid insurance company. That insurance company would be Great Eastern. Yeah. I'm naming them. 6 freaking hours waiting there!

I know the bill is huge but come on man! Ask all your questions to the hospital at once! Don't keep sending a few then get answers and then send more questions! So annoying...

In the end the bill was covered and we got home  and I was sooooo burned out I slept super early man! Got almost 12 hours of sleep. I miss sleep. I'm not getting much again tonight. Gotta wake up early to get them Russell Peter tickets before they are sold out! Since I don't have a credit card, I have to walk in and buy from the store by cash! AND stores only open at 10am. Ticket sales commence at 9am.

Praying that there will be tickets left when I get to the store tomorrow.. YES there will be!!! Think positive thoughts!!! :D

The Job - Task 3 (BP Healthcare)

Task 3
Day One

For this week our client is BP Healthcare! It is a totally new world compared to the previous two weeks which was more of the production world. This week its serious man!

We were told to do some research on the company. Some of us did and well, some didn’t... ;)

On Friday, we found out our teams and I was under Team B with Jasmine, Zarith and Ismail as our leader. We had to go on a crash course on the company backgrounds as well as their products and services. Information bloody overload man! So much stuff to learn especially when we were having a tour for the services.

Basically what we were “trained” to perform was Audiometry test, Dexa Scan, Stress ECG and Body composition analysis. Learning what each of the service actually tells the client as well as learning the procedures to perform the test.

It was fun as some of us get to try on the machines! For free.... ;)

Day Two
Execution day! What we did was had some pointers as each of us will be in charge of one room. I was in charge of the Audiometry room.

We are supposed to be giving a little tour for a potential VIP client for BP Healthcare. We will be giving him a little taste of the Head2Toe healthcheck.

There was a slight surprise for us. For our team, we didn’t expect to be performing the Glucose Blood Test. So when we were asked to do the test, we were caught off guard and were all panicking. We messed up some of the information and I feel damn bad because I knew I did give the wrong information after the whole process. Argh!!!

I hoped I made up my mistake when it was my turn to bring our client to the Audiometry room because I don’t think I made any errors. Pretty confident with what I did in the room. There was one part where the client had to enter the silent booth (a booth which is soundproof). At that point, our guest judge for the week, Mr Chevy Beh decided to enter the room. At that point I have nothing to demonstrate and all I could do was just waiting. Awkward silence.......

Oh! Also, it was Ismail’s birthday! So we all had an awesome time taking pictures and eating. Mostly having LOTS of fun and forgetting about our task at hand... ;)

Day Three
D-DAY, again. We lost this week sadly. Judging was rather different this time. It usually we go in then exit for the judges to deliberate but then this time, once we entered, the judges told us stuff and then the hires were given. We all thought that it was rather unfair though. It was as though results were already made even before we enter judging. So what’s the point of having judging when the verdict was already made?? So weird...

But it was a fun week nevertheless.

PICTURES! :D

The Job - Task 2 (8TV)

Task 2
Day One

Our preparation for this task was substantial. My team and I had 2 meetings beforehand, one to brainstorm for ideas and one to choose the idea. We were also contacting each other through Facebook chat the entire time before the task.

We started with a million and one ideas and topics. One in particular we liked was to include a shark costume for the topic shark’s finning to come in and hug Hansen (Our talent for the PSA) in the end. Ismail’s brilliant idea. We hunted high and low for a shark costume for rent but nowhere had one. Thus, we scrapped the idea.

Narrowed down to 4 ideas and we pitched to Eddie Lim, our guest judge and guide for the task. We met him, explained the 4 concept that we had. In the end, his advice was to create a simple new script and we decided to take that advice. We had approximately 3 hours to come up with a new concept and a new script AND a power point presentation for the idea. Soooo doomed. In the end we did it. We came up with a brand new idea thanks to Reshma and Jason.

THEN, we were supposed to present our idea to Ahmad Izham Omar, CEO of 8TV aka The Big Boss. Eddie was there as well during the presentation. I was stammering like mad! In the end he liked the shark idea and gave approval on that. After that, Eddie came by and told us that he tole Mr. Izham about our shark costume idea and he actually liked it! At that point we decided, damn it, we are bringing that shark in even if we need to create it ourselves…

Went shopping with the budget given to create the Shark costume. We all crashed at Reshma’s place and we did it in less than 2 hours. The guys left and Reshma and I went over to Bangsar to get the wheelchair from Reshma’s grandmother. Are you curious now on how our PSA is gonna be? I stayed over Reshma’s and didn’t get any sleep through the night as I had a feeling that something about the script was just not right. The bloody mini theater in my head wouldn’t stop replaying the concept over and over again. Finally, I found the fault of it…

Day Two
We went over to Segi College in the morning. Told my teammates the problem I had with the script and we had to come up with a new line right before the shoot. Super last minute but I think it was the best that we could have done. Got to the studio by a van.

When we arrived there, I was shocked on the number of people that were actually gonna be involved in this shoot! Compared to last week, it was just 3 and the team. THIS was like 20 people? Camera, lights, audio, make up… Damn! This shit just got serious! We did our last minute preparation, delegated stuff to my team and went to do our stuff!

I was confused and was literally blur but got the hang of it in the end. My team did an excellent job! It was fun like mad! Even with literally no sleep and being absolutely stunned by the size of the production, and even when we used up too much time on preparation, we managed to finish 10 minutes before the limit.

We had lunch and headed out to the editing. Damn, I had no idea what to do there man. Jason was a huge help there. My sleepless night was beginning to take its toll on me. In the end Eddie had to give us a little push on what to do as we were wasting time. In the end we had extra time again! It was then we decided to play around with music. YG, our editor, played a few music and then BAM! One hit us and we were like “Ooooo! That’s good!” Added that into our final product..

Day Three
Judging Day! The pressure this week was mad. Being team leader was like everything can fall apart if you screw up. I decided to sell our PSA through using 8TV’s approach to being different. In the end I that worked. The judges saw it as us willing to take the risk and be crazy doing something entirely different. 3 out of 4 from my team got job offers. Ismail, Reshma and I got a job offer. When the judges announced that 3 jobs are being offered, I was like, “SHIT!” because I expected 4. I was already shocked from the point that the judges said 3 and in the end it was Jason who didn’t get it.

I thought that it was really unfair. Jason did a great job this week and we all knew that! It was a pity that the judges didn’t recognize the things that he did. We all felt so bad for him!

Then it was the time for the revelation of our next task. Next week, our employee is BP Healthcare. We are to help them organise a health screen check. We were required to research on how lifestyle can affect one’s health.

The twist? We will not know who our teammates are till the task and it will be the choice of BP Healthcare to choose. Daaaaaaaamn! This show is just getting better and better!

This week was one of my favourite week out of the entire show. I love my team for this week. Without them, the win won't be possible. Thanks guys! Some pictures for the day... Yeah, we had time to take pictures :)
