2012

There goes another year. How fast time flies! Lets make a recap of 2012!

Beginning of this year, I got myself into a reality TV show.

I have to say that it was one of the best decisions of my life. I enjoyed every week shooting and doing crazy tasks with awesome people.

I miss it.

2012 is also the year where I officially graduated!

The hard work from 4 years of ACCA (ok, I was playing most of the time), came to an end as I received the scroll to the end of my student life to welcome working adulthood (which sucks by the way).

This year I also got my very first job and my own car!

I'm gonna be paying off the debt for this for the next 6 years but it gave me a lot more freedom which means more fun! :D

Got myself a tattoo of a North Star with the quote "I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul"

The quote symbolizing the control I have over my own life and the north star to guide me through all the stupid and crazy things I do throughout my life.

Welcomed Peanut the lost bunny whose thinks he's a dog.

Towards the end of the year, we've welcome baby Aiden to the world with his coos and cries.

All in all, it has been a good year.

So what's install for next year?

1. New job! Starting 7th January 2013.
2. First ever rave party 18th January 2013.

Well, that's all for now. Things never go according to plan for me. So I rather not plan and just live life like it should -- mysteries and adventures.

HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL! :)

Moving on...

SOOO...

I quit my job. :)

Yes, again. My parents are gonna have a headache when I break the news to them.

I guess I could say that I was always a lucky child. I was never forced to do what I didn't want to.

In secondary school, my parents did not have to worry about my studies. They never bothered pushing me to study everyday. Same thing in uni. My mom even asks me to stop studying and go shopping with her...

Now, I have the privilege to choose my career path.

What DO I want in life?

I ask myself that very same question everyday. Well, usually when I am not busy with work and have too much time in hand or when I have too much work that I get so sick of it. So I guess it is all the time.

Back to the main picture.

I quit my job! I've got an interview in an event management company (Yay!). Hoping that it works out.

I think I will never get a real job. I seem to hate the fact that there is a fix amount of time to do something indefinitely. I prefer completing everything given to me without splitting them into a few days of work which also means that work will never finish for me because things are being thrown at me every single day.

I think I'll just find project based jobs. Then find a guy, get married and stay home baking cookies while having obese kids.

Perfect.

One Last Tour

My first ever rave party and I have decided to choose to go for Swedish House Mafia's One Last Tour. See the irony there? Their last, my first. :)

I have been waiting for ever for JS Concert to launch the tickets. Last night, Jia Huey told me that she has a friend looking for people to help give our flyers for promotion. Payment?

One free Swedish House Mafia ticket.

I definitely took that offer. Catch? Giving out flyers for 12 hours. Fucking insane man! I have a new found respect for people who give out flyers.

My feet were soaked and were squishy from the rain. Disgusting. Now they feel like I did a thousand jumping jacks (not that I know how that feels but I can imagine?)

Here it is!

I was so bummed that they split a RAVE PARTY into 2 zones and even worse naming it chill out zone. They should have named one Party Zone and the other Rave Zone. Sounds better no?

After 11 hours handing out flyers, travelling from Sunway Pyramid to Mid Valley and finally Bintang Walk, we were done! In the end they paid in cash. Which was a good thing for me since I was thinking of selling the ticket and use the cash to get the better ticket. Now I just have to add on 80 bucks to get the Party Zone.

Soooo....

Swedish House Mafia. Here I come mutherfuggers!

Saving is for dummies

If only I have all the money in the world. The first thing I would do is to dress like some aunty in a t-shirt and torn jeans, walk into those high end stores where the shop assistants give you a bitchy look, and buy something IN CASH.

In your face mutherfuggers!

Sadly I am so far away from achieving that goal. I am living on the edge with car instalments, insurances, food, petrol, etc.

Sucks being an adult with responsibility. It is so weird that when we were young we can't wait to grow up. Now that we are older, we wish that we could stay forever young. We humans are that greedy. We always want everything.

That is why I have made a promise to myself to enjoy life as it is today. I'm 22 years old! It has only been 2 years into my twenties and I am in no hurry to move on with life. I want to life everyday like it should. Do what I want to do. Party! Hang out! Laze around!

Yeah, yeah, people say you should save for the future. Work hard now and retire early and enjoy life. True. That is one way to view life.

How I see life is enjoy it while you can. People work so hard and save for the future. How certain are you that there will be a future to save for? Ok, if there is a future, you saved and then what? You would be to old to be doing the things that you would love to be doing in your twenties. You'll never get back your twenties.

That's how I see life. People judge and say, "That is a very short term thinking!" or "How can you think this way?" or "Save up then retire early and you still can do the things you want!"

Hey, I don't tell you how you live your life. So let me live mine the way that I want to live it. I want to enjoy every minute of every moment in life.

But then again, there is that dream where I want to buy expensive stuff IN CASH! Well,  I'll just save up for that then! :D

Work, work, work

Working life sucks. Work is good because you won't be rotting your life away at home doing absolutely nothing and also working leads to cash in your bank account.

But it sucks. That's life bitches.

But then again, what is life? The answer was always subjective. For some it is to have a great career, others a carefree life to travel the world. For me, I think its the latter.

In order to finance that carefree life to travel the world, one would need cash. A whole load of mother fucking moolah and that is why we have jobs.

Working is a way to move towards your goal in life. Those who say money can't buy happiness. To me, money CAN buy happiness because in order to be happy, you need the money to finance everything that you do to be happy.

Sometimes I wonder how the world would be like is money was never invented. How would the world be like? Would it be a raging warzone for everyone will be fighting over everything? Or would it be a sharing community where everyone just trade things or make their own?

Working in a finance company/website would mean that I'll be jobless without money. However, there won't be jobs needed! Everyone would be doing whatever they love and live would be so, SO different.

Yea, my jobs isn't that bad at the moment. Stress, yes, with the seemingly endless amount of work which keeps coming even though I'm not done with my initial ones.

One's goal in life is what drives you to do what you do. What is my goal in life? If I could, I'll strap on a backpack and travel the world.

Just need to cut those strings grounding me....

What's New?

I haven't been blogging for AGES! I should begin again since I've been doing so much things lately.

What's with my life? Well, I have decided to abandon my suppose-to-be-an-ever-so-boring-auditor life and joined a start up company called iMoney.my.

So life has been crazy! Being a start up means doing everything. From customer service, product research/update, coding (it's a website!), designing, some marketing. Been there, done it. I have to admit that it is awfully fun!

I get to work anywhere and anytime as long as there is internet access. Unfortunately, that would also mean that I have to sometimes work over the weekends. Oh well, not like I do anything else if I don't.

That's work...

I'm getting my car soon too! Won the prize from the TV show (RM2k proton voucher). Why let it go to waste? Got a nice new pretty Proton Saga FLX which will be sucking 1/4 of my pay every month. Meaning less money for me to go shopping... :(

Let's see, what else? I guess it's pretty much the same.

BY THE WAY...

Have you ever heard of a stray bunny? Neither have I but this cute little fella came into our front yard yesterday. Seems lost and that fella is soooooo thin! Poor thing must have been lost for quite some time and being traumatised by all the passing cars and all.

So for now, we "kidnapped" it. He chose the right house to enter I guess. But then again, which cute fluffy creature wouldn't? So many plants, shrubs, flowers and stuff. Its practically heaven for them...

Anyways, here's a picture of the cute little fella!

So FLUFFY!! :D

Attended a few concerts along the way as well, Avenged Sevenfold and The Wanted are the latest 2. Best thing ever was that I met Kyle Patrick (In case you are like, "Who?", he's the lead singer of The Click 5). ;)

Holy moly. My face is sooo oily (That was meant to rhyme). Who can blame me? It was after The Wanted concert. Oh my gosh, he's smile just melts you. :3

Last day of September! How time flies....

Busy Bee

I haven't been blogging for such a loooooong time! I kinda miss it actually.

So how is life?

Its good. Of course I always wish to be doing absolutely nothing lazing around at home but I am also glad that I am not a zombie auditor working my brains off in an audit firm.

I started my new internship. Been taking up internships because it lets me learn and explore things along my way. Interesting how I decided to stop my last intership and then another opportunity just pops up.

Sometimes I like how life works. :)

This new job, its pretty interesting. Somehow I've gotten myself another online business This time its more financial based. I guess numbers and financial jargon are still my thing.

I started on Monday, 2nd of July and daaaaaamn, time flies and its already the end of the week. I've been given so many different kind of things to do and it has been keeping me on my feet almost everyday!
Marketing, advertising, writing, research, reading, design. Utilising all my brain juices man!
Of course, in between I end up playing games for an hour on my phone and raiding the
refrigerator. Who cares? As long as I do what I am suppose to do.

Currently, I'm suppose to be doing some self enrichment. Mentor/boss encourages self improvement and has given me some reading stuff. Pretty interesting actually. But I never like reading from a PDF file. Always like holding the actual book.

I'm old school that way. I still take notes in a notebook with a pen/pencil. I still prefer talking to people face to face instead of telephones and emails.

What am I doing with online start ups man?

Simple! Its interesting and I get to work anywhere, anytime. ;)

Starry Nights

It is a little late. Actually, VERY late for this post but I have been busy doing other stuff and I just noticed this morning that I have not written about my experience at Redang.

Our flight was scheduled to leave at 8.30 am. Meaning that I will have to wake up at 6am to pack some stuff and have some food.

The flight wasn't long. Berjaya Air wasn't that bad actually. Its pretty comfortable. Right before the plane landed we saw a rainbow right outside our window. Didn't manage to get a picture of it though...

Once we got out of the plane, the air was sooooo humid and hot. The saltiness of the sea can be smelt from the air. Somehow I thought that it was saltier than Perhentian...

Got on a van to the Resort, checked in and chilled because the next snorkelling trip is only at 2 something. So we had to time kill and when I say that it means time for me to explore the place and take loads of human being-less pictures.

Snorkelling for me wasn't as nice as Perhentian. Then we got back it was dinner and after that I was basically just chilling on the chairs outside the chalets. You would not believe the view at night! Having less light pollution, you can actually see the stars! Its not as insane as the time I went to Australia. But for Malaysia, you can hardly see them stars anymore.

I crashed early wanted to wake up early to get a shot of the sunrise. The first picture was taken on the last day. The morning of the second day was cloudy but then you can see the gorgeous clouds around the sunrise.

Oh how I loved it there. I would go back to both Redang and Perhentian anytime just to do absolutely nothing but sit and chill.

The Job - Task 7 (Segi + SAYS)

Day One
The time for the last task has arrived! We first had briefing session at Segi where we were introduced to Chris from Says.Com who gave us a brief run through on the company and how it works. Shannon also gave some pointers for the branding of Segi.

So off we went to come out with ideas. We could do anything we want as long as it meets the objective of the campaign. Being team leader for this team was not easy. No offence to my team but I have to admit that the other team had 4 crazily creative brain juices. I was a bit afraid and also I don’t like losing when I am team leader.

After that we were given a room to brainstorm for ideas. It was crazy man! We were literally blank on ideas. Reshma came up with the idea of holding up signs and then that was about it. We were basically playing with that idea for the entire time we were given to brainstorm.

Then Thoriq came up with the topic “Secrets”. That was a “YES!!!!” moment. It was something that has a hook. Everyone loves secrets. We were supposed to head out to The Hideout and pitch our ideas to Shannon as well as Chris for approval and advices. We ran through a couple of ideas and it was Secrets that was appealing to them both the most. Thus, Secrets it is. Things were delegated and a checklist was made making sure that everyone knows what time to come, what preparations and what to bring.

Day Two
Execution! Reshma and I were there at about 9am. I borrowed my sister’s camera for pictures and Reshma brought the manila cards and some markers. We were waiting for Thoriq and Zarith when Reshma was telling me that we should create a consent form. So, we did. Also, we cut the manila cards as well as came down to a list of pre-approved “secrets” just in case people don’t want to come up with their own secrets.

It was about 10am. And the other 2 people were still missing. Thoriq had some work errands to run and Zarith was not answering his phone. Reshma and I decided to start off first as I decided that we both will be approaching people and the guys will be coming up with the body copy for the Says page as well as the landing copy.

It was fun as hell! Though there was a bit messy because we didn’t write down the secrets on the manila cards beforehand. So I have to say that it was a bit kelam kabut also la. We tried to do too many things at once.

Then finally the other two guys arrived! Zarith who was suppose to bring the Sharpie markers his team bought for the 8TV PSA previously left them in the cab! I don’t blame him la. He was sick and went to the clinic and probably forgot about them in the cab but I was thankful that Reshma brought hers just in case.

So, our cut off time was 2.30pm. Roughly around 1-ish, we went back and checked on Thoriq and Zarith who were sitting down and brainstorming for the wordings. Thoriq seems to be stuck. Without wasting any time, it was decided that Reshma switch with Thoriq. Then it was Thoriq and I who went around taking pictures. 2.30pm and we were done! Went back up to the room and went through everything making sure that we got what we need.

We went down for a final photoshoot of Thoriq for the picture on Says and off we go to The Hideout....

At The Hideout, we were provided with a designer to help design our landing pages

Day Three
Basically after the preparations, we had nothing much to do other than spamming. I feel really bad for spamming. I HATE spamming. I did minimal amount of it. But enough to get me blocked from the Segi FB page itself!

DAMN!

Other than that we were suppose to come up with a presentation for the concept behind the idea. Maximising my awesome powerpoint skills creating the prettiest slides ever. I’m so proud of them. HAHA! Presentation went smoothly, even for me. Since it was my team, I know everything for everyone. As long as I am familiar with what’s in the slides, I’m actually fine! *thinks back Kenanga week* *Shudders*

It was a short day. The next would be the revelation!!! JENG JENG JENG!!!

Day Four (FINAL DAY)
Then it was the results....

It was crazy man!! Waiting for Chris to announce the statistics is enough to drive us crazy! FINALLY......

WE WON!!!!

HOLY MOTHER FREAKING BALLS!!!!

And then it was all over. 2 month of absolute fun being thrown into all kinds of industries doing all the wacky and crazy things. The last task has come to an end.

Now it was just one final interview and the winner will be revealed.

Well, honestly, I didn’t really want to win the final prize. I came to have fun and gain experience as well as meeting new people. It was a random thing that I got into this show. All I wanted was to try out my interview skills and who knew I would have gotten myself in this.

Went through this interview which I knew I screwed up. When I came out I knew I wasn’t getting The Job. We all roughly knew who was going to be the winner already.

Then it was the moment of truth, the announcement of the winner.

CONGRATS RESHMA!!!

We knew kinda knew it was going to be you. Jason was close but it is still yours! GIRL POWER! Woo hoo! It was an honour working with you the most times throughout the entire show.

It was the best experience that I ever had. I did not regret going for that interview/audition. I did not regret meeting all you awesome people (contestants, production as well as clients!). I had the best 2 months ever being part of the show.

THANKS ALL! :)

PICTURES taken from the entire show! Things that wasn't shown on TV. We had sooo much fun. I miss you all! <3

Signs and Symptoms

You know how some times you get some wacky symptoms and then you decided to consult Dr.Google?

Recently, I noticed that there were little red dots on my legs. Like even pores on my leg and they are under the skin. Meaning they were not bumpy like a rash.

Dr.Google said that these things were called Petechiae and as a normal human being, I google image and looked for the pictures that looked just like my symptom. Found a few and they point to me having Dengue Fever.

I do actually meet all the symptoms. Headache, muscle and joint aches, pain behind the eyes, spots. The only thing missing was the fever. Hahaha! Glad that didn't show up.

But then today the dots are going away. So I guess that it was just nothing.

Though, I am still constantly tired and having low blood pressure which is driving me crazy because I space out 9.5 times out of 10. Also getting a head rush 3 out of 5 times you stand up ain't fun.

I should REAAAAALY go get my blood checked....

But then again......... :3

Cookie Mode!

Yes, I've been pretty much doing nothing at home and I had this idea to make this god-like cookies that a friend of mine once made. They were gastrorgasmic man!

It seems like the oven I have is soooooo pathetically small, I can only bake like 3 of them at a time. Thus, I intend to reduce the size, and more people get to eat them! :D

Since the first few rounds were just 3 at a time, somehow the time taken to bake these heavens in a tray are not fast enough. Bake 3, eat 2. Balance 1. So now I am actually blogging to make sure that I keep my hand off those cookies or there won't be any left.

Though I have to admit that they are a bit too sweet. Then it hit me. I was supposed to used semi sweetened chocolate chips. But I bought the sweetened ones.

Oh well! All the sore throat that will be coming will be sooooo worth it. Anyways, credits to the original recipe, here!

The Job - Task 6 (Proton)

Day One
So this week’s challenge was going to be a total surprise! We have absolutely no clue on what the task was going to be about nor do we even know our client. The curiosity was eating into my brains for that entire week!!

So we were told to meet up at Segi College early in the morning. We all got into the van and went towards our mystery location. Somehow it was as though as we were going in circles. Went all the way to Shah Alam and then came back towards Subang and then gone back into the Shah Alam industrial area.

Finally, we arrived at our location....

PROTON!!

Team A was Jason, Emmy, Zarith and I. Team B was Reshma, Thoriq, Jasmine and Ismail. The weird part was that we went all the way there just to shoot the opening scene and the announcement of the teams. After that we had to go all the way back to Mutiara Damansara.

So we found out that our task was to carry out a Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) as well as to deliver a Proton FLX-SE to a client. We had to split the task so that each person gets an equal amount of work. Once we arrived to the showroom at Mutiara Damansara, we were put straight into a quick session of briefing. Crash course on PDI and delivery man!

We had to learn every single thing about the car in just one night! Thank god for the existence of the checklist. If we had to remember all the steps, I think I would have died on the spot.

So Day 1 ended with Jason delegating stuff to the team. One night to remember the parts in which we were suppose to carry out...

Day Two
During the night, what we actually did was to come up with the points that we will be explaining to the client. The Flow. We met up early at Mcds and went through some of everyone’s points.

When it was time we head over to the showroom and waited for it to begin.

Everything happened at like super speed! We were given 45min to complete the PDI. That was something new that we found out there and then. Emmy and I started off first going through the car and I guess we underestimated 45mins. We took longer than we should have leaving us less time to finish the other stuff.

Car wash! Thanks to the help of the mighty “Superman” we had crazy amount of fun. It was the most random thing ever. Jason called me the night before asking whether I have goggles and I thought he just wanted to borrow them because he’s going swimming or something....

Then, we had to install some items on the car. There was a slight problem with the number plate and it was super hilarious. It won’t be shown on TV but the screw we were suppose to unscrew for the number plate could not be unscrewed. They stopped our time and had to get a technician to come and loosen the screw for us.

And that was the first half of the task...

Second half was the actual delivery of the car to the client. Zarith went through the warranty part with the client. Then Jason and I went over the car with the client and in the end it was over. It was pretty fun! Insanely detailed stuff but fun!

Day Three
Back to Segi for the judging on day 3. We were there waiting to find out who were the winners of the prize. Right! I forgot to mention! The prize! A sales rebate of RM2000 for Proton. Perfect man. I just was about to get a new car.

We knew that it was going to be close because we could see the other team performing and it was close. So it was a little nerve wrecking moment...

WE WON! RM2000 babeh! New car come to meeeeee!!

After so many weeks somehow whether or not I get job offers, it doesn’t really matter? It’s just the best if you just win for the week damn it! ;)

Judging. I remembered that Pn Jamilah said that I have a pretty smile! Hahaha! Then there was something about Zarith and pretty girls, Emmy being over detailed. I can’t really remember what they said. In the end it was Jason and I who got the job offer for Team A and Thoriq for Team B.

Next week! Final task! A marketing campaign to gain as many likes as possible for Segi Malaysia’s Facebook page and our media was Says.Com! It is going to be fun as hell!

Teams are.....

Team A : Ismail, Jasmine, Jason, Emmy
Team B : Reshma, Zarith, Thoriq and I

It was week one all over again! Just that now we are closer to each other and we know each other better! AND they decided to choose the 2 people who didn’t want to be team leader for the last week. Ismail and ME....

I was talking to Ismail during one of the weeks and we did come to conclude that we don’t mind being team leader for any task except for the last one because we knew that it was going to be BIG.

Damn that mouth of mine...

Photos for Proton week! :)

The Job - Task 5 (Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad)

Day One
From last week’s fun week with P1, we went to a 360 turn to a serious company, namely Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad. Finance! Shares! Of all the things in the world, it must be one of the things that I do not like the most...

Finance.

I know, I am an ACCA graduate and I am suppose to be having the advantage in this task but no. I detest finance. Wait, that’s not right. I LOATHE finance.

Not knowing our team or task this week was also horrible. We had absolutely nothing to use to do any form of research before we walk into the company.

We arrived, got a super short tour of the place and then we were just waiting there for the announcement. Mr. Chan was about to announce the team as well as the task. Kancheong giler! And it was the girls versus the guys week! We predicted that this would happen. Then there was the announcement of the task. We were given RM1 million to invest in shares and we were suppose to create a portfolio and justify why we decide to invest in the shares we picked.

We went through a short training session. I swear I was just pretending to understand what in the world the dude was talking about because I have no bloody idea what the hell is he saying. I have an ACCA reputation to keep up people! I was even more lost after the training than before!

Then we were to discuss with a mentor provided. Thank god for Jasmine who knows what she’s doing. End of the day we had our shares and delegated what we are suppose to do.

That night it was hell on earth. Minimum relax hours, maximum stress doing what I hate most in the world...

Research...

Day Two
Started early. I woke up at 6 to finalise my slides. We were all stressed out with the amount of work still left to finalise in the morning.

We had a shooting and we finally understood the phrase “Time is Money”. We girls were literally counting down every minute that we were standing downstairs waiting for the crew to set up. We took the time to relax a bit, snap some pictures and found out our prize for the week...

An account with KIBB with a starting balance of RM3000! Holy mother it is RM3k!

That was plain motivation to work even harder to perfecting our presentation and facts making sure that there are no loopholes in what we were presenting.

While we were having lunch, Jason and Ismail actually came over and asked us whether the girls would like to go present first. Well, of course we didn’t want to. We could use that extra 1 hour to prepare! A bit mean but then it is 3 freaking thousand!

Presentation. Damn I was nervous as hell! I guess I soooo screwed up my part but. It was messy as hell and my flow was just wrong. I believe I have just humiliated myself in front of the entire nation.

Day Three
As usual day 3 is results day. Judging from the guy’s expressions after the girls’ presentation, we were pretty sure that we would be winning. But then there was a doubt that the guys were playing mind games. We didn’t wanna put our hopes high up and just have it ripped down to the bottom.

Results were nerve wrecking! In the end...

*drumrolls*

We did it! RM3000 muddafuggas! Best part is that the girls defeated the guys and Jason’s winning streak!
During judging, our strategy was for everyone to talk and try to get 4 job offers. Mr. Chan’s comment was that I was nervous during the presentation till at some point he thought that I was going to hyperventilate and faint. Aw man! At that point I thought that I wasn’t gonna get a job offer.

But then he said my financial calculations were very impressive. Aw shucks...

We gotten the best compliment that anyone could ever get. Bruce mentioned that there was nothing negative that he could comment about for us. Coming from him, it was the best thing ever because he was usually the one who finds out the little small details and comments on them. So what he told us, we were happy shit man!

Then Mr. Chan said, “Emmy, Jasmine, Janice and Reshma, we are giving our four job offers to you” or something like that.

4 job offers ya’ll!! Girls slaughtered the guys this week. Best judging ever!!

Then it was time for the announcement for next week’s task and.....

It’s a freaking surprise. We don’t know the company, industry or our team mates! Shit man! Its going to be hell!

We were trying to get info out from production and from what we gathered, it was going to be fun and crazy and that we won’t need any prior preparation for the task...

This shit just got seriously fun! ;)

A Little Pieces of A7X

Finally. The day where Avenged Sevenfold rock the soil in Malaysia.

Waited for around 4 hours in queue. Was one of the first few in line, waiting in the scotching sun. I think the back of my neck is darker already. :/

So there I was first few in line and when they opened the gates, sprinted in and manage to get the fence! My beloved trusty fence that never fails me at all concerts. The view?

AWESOME! And there was more waiting. But not too long actually! Opening band Love Me Butch only played 3 songs and started at 8pm. I expected them to play more songs like the other concerts. Oh well, Then more waiting and finally at 9.15-ish, the lights went off and music!

They started with Nightmare. EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE sang along to the point that the crowd was so loud I couldn't even hear M.Shadows anymore. Then it was Critical Acclaim, Second Heartbeat, Welcome to the Family, Beast and the Harlot, Buried Alive, So Far Away, Afterlife, A Little Piece of Heaven, Bat Country. Encore was Fiction, God Hates Us and Unholy Confessions. The list if for you, Yi Ming! I remembered it! XD

Some other pictures.

In the end, none of these are my favourite picture....

In remembrance of The Rev. The backdrop changed when they played So Far Away. Shit man, I almost cried singing along to that song. We miss you! And we made damn sure that you could hear us in the afterlife.

Bruises, sunburn, dehydration...

All worth it. Every single fucking time. :)

Second Chances...

Its so sad! My initial plan was to head over to the head office to purchase the tickets. Knowing that it will be fast there. Sadly, TicketPro was smart enough to put a phrase there saying that we can't purchase from the main office.

DAAAAAAMN! My entire plan to get Russell Peters tickets was ruined.

So this morning I decided to get up early and head over to Subang Parade to get the tickets hoping to be the first few in line. I got there around 9.45am thinking that the mall opens at 10am. Fucking doors were already opened when I was there. Had a bad feeling. As I was walking in I saw the queue and it was from Rock Corner all the way to Parkson. I think there must be around a hundred people lining up there man!

Knowing that there is not a chance I will even get a glimpse of the shop before the tickets are sold out, called my cousin who was lining up at Pacific Sports Damansara and she was 3rd in line. Drove all the way there just in time. The guy in front was taking his fucking own sweet time choosing his seats. Bloody idiot.

Didn't even reached the 2nd person and the tickets for RM128 and RM188 was all gone. 5 minutes was all it took. Stayed around there seeing the available seats disappearing and finally around 10.40am, there was none left.

But then....

Some of the seats actually become available again. Like suddenly they became unsold. I was not willing to wait la. Was too tired. Didn't get the sleep I needed and didn't have much patience at that moment.

So second chance just gone like that. I find that it is so unfair to those of us who don't have credit cards. Buying online is not possible! They should make you earn for your tickets! Only sell them at stores and if you want them, come early and get them.

But the world is all about the money. You got them, you'll get what you want. If I could afford the RM 338 tickets, I would have gotten them....

5 Apples and A Cake...

So, being the super bored jobless person I am now, I was browsing through some magazine when I spotted a recipe! England Apple Traybake.

Simple recipe and I had everything at home except for the self raising flour. So mom and I went out to get some and it was working time!

Cutting apples, mixing batter, lining the tray....

And soon the entire house is filled with the awesome aroma from the butter and the apples.

As usual, I'm always too lazy to follow the recipe. I am supposed to layer a few layers of apples and batter (alternating). I only layered twice because of my horrible judgement on the amount of batter to place on the first later.

Second mistake is when they mentioned "sprinkle GENEROUSLY with sugar"... Mom was like "You used the entire pack of sugar already and you still wanna sprinkle?". Sadly, I shouldn't have listened to her and sprinkle anyway. Apples are sour.

Thirdly, the tray was too small and deep. Its 20x20 when I need a 27x21 tray. Which means it is more moist than it should be in the middle.

So I guess the traybake turned out to be an apple butter cake instead. I topped the cake with cinnamon and sugar just to kill off the sourness apples.

Not too bad really! ;)

The Job - Task 4 (P1 Wimax)

Task 4
Day One

This time around our client was P1 Wimax! A fun company! We were asked to design a print ad for P1’s all new Home Talk.

First day there and we were given a tour of the place! Damn! It’s like a dream place to work man! There is like a leisure room where there are massage chairs, foosball and a pool table. There is also a very well equipped gym! First time entering to the gym and my reaction was, “Shiiiiiiiiiiit!!!”

Because of that, we had to redo and act surprise. Sorry guys!! Then we went on to the rooftop. There was like a little garden up there! They actually have parties there. You can see the entire PJ skyline. So cool!!!

After the tour, we were given a little product briefing. Got some notes that could have killed us later on as well....

Day Two
The day started with pitching of the idea to Alvin Teh. We expected at least one of our brilliant ideas to be picked. Unfortunately, we targeted the wrong market. Thanks to the briefing the previous day where we clearly asked the question, “Who is our target market?” and she answered “Current P1 users”

So we had ZERO ideas and only 1 hour (which was lunch) to come up with a target market, a concept, copyright and pictures.

We were fucked....

Even when we began our session with the designer, we still haven’t come up with a concept. Finally, we did and then we were running out of time!

There was not even a single minute to waste. Time seemed to fly by so quickly. In the end, we made it!!! No idea how in the world we did it, but we did...

Day Three
This time, day 3 was different. We started with presentation of the final design. Alvin asked questions and we answered. Damn, I wished I talked more at this point.

Result were shocking...

We actually won the challenge! Damn, are we awesome or what? We did everything in about 5 hours plus. Our ad had a lot of problems but then we had the flow and connection of words which the judges liked. It was soooooo delightful man!!

Then it was the hire time. This time I was the only one not offered a job offer. A bit sad la. I kinda expected it in a way. I knew I was too quiet when the judges where there. I need to argue back more! I am sick of the judges telling me that I am quiet and unconfident. With next week being in my zone, I’m gonna prove them soooooo wrong....

So we won 1 year free subscription from P1 and a goodie bag. Let's see what was in the goodie bag worth RM200...

Jealous much? ;)

Mushrooms

Yeah. Ever since the end of the show, I've been lazing around at home for far too long. I finally ran out of things to do at home.

So now, here I am again typing utter nonsense. At the rate I have been bored at home, mushrooms will start sprouting out from the top of my head if I don't find anything to do.

I should be cleaning my once again filthy room. Its like a minefield, you know? No where safe to step. The layer of dust is thick enough to make my black TV table grey. Clothes are everywhere, hanging on the window, on the bed, on the cushion (but never on the floor).

I should really clean my room. I think I'll do that tomorrow!

Also, I was cooking lunch just now and got myself a huge ass blister from the scorching oil. Well, I'm exaggerating a bit. Its the size of a huge red bean. Its so squishy and I am extremely tempted to burst it regardless of others warning me the consequences...

RESIST!!!

Its on my arm right at the fair part of the skin too! Urgh! Gonna do anything to make the scar less obvious. Other than tanning of course. I enjoy being a vampire that doesn't sparkle...

The beginning

I must say that I am going to miss university life. Skipping lectures, sleeping in class, studying last minute...

It was my graduation yesterday! Honestly, I wasn't super psyched about it. Not looking forward to the looooooong speech and the torture sitting there being all hungry...

Family surprised me with a bouquet of flowers. So sweet. My first bouquet ever! Not happy about the teddy bear there but who am I to complain. :)

Some pictures! :)
